parametric shape
The shape can be adjusted as required adjusting defined parameters. Not only the size can be determined, but for the first time the shape can be adjusted to suit requirements, making the luminaire(s) unique out of millions of possible constellations, enabling a collaboration between end user and designer.
By means of a custom-built 3D printer, each luminaire can be manufactured as a unique specimen, which provides the basis for this new type of parametric production
light design
Using a specifically programmed script, the CAD generated light design could be played in real time on an Arduino Uno, which then controls the LEDs. This makes it possible to apply scenes not only to a specific luminaire, but to an entire room or a larger concept.
The generated light acts as a kind of material that is supposed to interact with the design.
